Protecting Brown’s Canyon
With the Antiquities Act, there has been a recent push to make this cherished resource into a protected national monument. The Antiquities Act is a law that gives the President of the United States the authority to restrict the use of particular public land owned by the government. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, two of Colorado’s democratic senators, have asked President Obama to designate 22,000 acres of national forest and Bureau of Land Management land along the Arkansas River as a national monument. This is a community driven effort to preserve the raw beauty of this natural resource. Join in and see what you can do!
