This whitewater rafting trip on the Arkansas River Browns Canyon National Monument and Big Horn Sheep Canyons stretches between Buena Vista and Salida with class II-III rapids. These canyons open to stunning views of the snow-covered Collegiate Peaks Mountains rising to over 14,000 feet. This is an intermediate to advanced river experience.
Start your trip in the Granite walls of Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River. Remote and far away from the crowds where wildlife still come to drink in the evening. Continuing downstream you enter the canyons of the BigHorn Sheep. Here the river flows a little more serene but only to pick up speed and run wilder class III rapids.
A great family paddle adventure, this is the BEST whitewater thrill you’ll find close to Denver or Colorado Springs.
Overnight trips require a minimum of 6 persons.
