The Arkansas River features 145 miles of Colorado whitewater with Class II-V rapids. Situated in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, the Arkansas River drops over 5,000 feet over the first 125 miles from the headwaters in Leadville, through the pink granite walls of Browns Canyon National Monument, into the 1,000-foot shadows of the famous Royal Gorge Class IV-V section.
This valley boasts views of the 14,000-foot Collegiate and Sangre de Cristo Mountain ranges that are enjoyed on our many white water rafting trips. It continues through the snowy peaks of the Sawatch Range through Big Horn Sheep Canyon to the finale of the Royal Gorge near Canon City. All meals lunch through lunch are provided.
Overnight trips require a minimum of 6 persons.

Food
On overnight trips, all on-river meals are provided, beginning with lunch the first day and ending with lunch the last day. The food is fresh and hearty and the guides will prepare it for you. A typical DINNER menu may include as a main course BBQ Steak, Baked Fish, Teriyaki Chicken, or combination entrees, fresh vegetables and salads, Dutch-oven desserts or breads, hors d’oeuvres, fresh fruits, fruit juices, coffee, tea and a complimentary glass of wine with dinner. All LUNCHES: are buffet style with a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, fruit, cheeses, sliced meats, nuts and juices or sodas.
Breakfast
Includes fresh fruit juice, eggs in all styles, special pancakes, French toast, melons, fruit, cereals with milk, sausage, bacon, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. We can accommodate special diets with advance notice and almost always the menu suits the vegetarian.
Though we carry ample supplies of juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate we encourage you to BYO extra soda or beer. You can arrange for us to pick up specific beverages for you prior to the trip or BYO before you meet us at the DVK base. Any liquids you bring must be in cans or unbreakable containers.
Alcohol
You’re welcome to bring alcohol in cans and unbreakable containers on overnight trips for camp. Glass of wine is complimentary with dinners. Our guides can refuse to let you participate in a trip if your safety is at risk due to alcohol or drugs.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in your trip cost. While tipping is done at your discretion, tipping is one of the gauges we use in terms of customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied, please let us know so that we can adjust our expeditions in the future.
